While Illinois Tech boasts four campuses throughout Chicago, EXPLO Chicago’s home base is the Mies Campus. Set on 120 acres with broad walkways, lots of green space and mature trees, the campus is an oasis in a major global city. Mies van de Rohe, the legendary Bauhaus director and one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, designed 20 of the school’s buildings and the campus master plan.
The American Institute of Architects has named the Illinois Tech campus as one of the most significant works of architecture in the United States and Forbes included Illinois Tech on its list of “America’s Most Beautiful College Campuses”.
