Wilderness Survival

Stranded in the woods with nothing but the pack on your back, learn skills to survive and escape.

We’re stranded! In the woods! With nothing but the packs on our backs! But panicking won’t get us anywhere, so let’s get to work. First, you’ll have to figure out a way to purify water and forage food. Next, with whatever materials you have handy (rope, tarp, twigs), you’ll need to build a shelter. And a fire too, even if you have to use your last match. With bears stealing your food and torrential rains destroying your tent, there’s no telling what disaster will strike next. You’ll practice emergency rescue procedures and learn how to treat wounds and diseases. And you’ll plot your escape. Whatever it takes to get off this island — with or without a compass — you’ll learn how to do it so you can get back home safely!

Learning how to make a homemade water filtration system was really cool. We were turning dirty contaminated water into clear drinkable water and it actually felt like magic the first time we did it. But I also know it’s not magic because I can teach you how it works scientifically.
