Keeping Health + Safety at the Center As we plan for Summer 2021 with COVID-19 safety front-of-mind, some of our traditional programming may be subject to change. We will continue to follow guidance from the CDC, public health officials, and our COVID-19 planning team, and will provide regular updates to families in the lead-up to arrival day. For the most up-to-date information on our COVID-19 planning, please visit our FAQ page. |
At EXPLO, activities take learning out of the classroom and into the playing field, the studios, the theater, the Quad, and more. While courses and electives give students a chance to have an in-depth experience in a specific subject, activity periods are designed to allow students to explore an even wider variety of interests and have plenty of fun while they’re at it!
We offer athletic activities (like soccer and tennis) and artistic activities (like painting and photography), as well as zany, EXPLO originals (like Quest and Squirrel Fishing) that will pique your curiosity. Each day, our newsletter, the Atlas, lists all of our activity offerings, and you’ll have the difficult choice of narrowing down your favorites. Students participate in one or two activity periods per day and choose from a variety of activities each period.

Our Programming Office — officially known as the “Office of Magic” — curates Evening Events every night specific to interests of 4th+5th and 6th+7th graders, whether that’s on or off-campus. Some previous events have included star-gazing at Wheaton College’s Astronomical Observatory, laser-tagging at the local arcade, stepping out of comfort zones at the Student Talent Show, or relaxing on the quad for a “Drive-In” Movie Night.
