Startup Entrepreneurship is a two-week focus program on the campus of Wellesley College for students entering grades 8-10.
Ever wonder why the world is full of great ideas, but few turn into successful businesses? Launching a new business is one of the most challenging things you will ever do. At Startup Entrepreneurship, we’ll give you the tools you need to get your ideas up and running — from preparing a pitch and landing seed money to defining your business model and building a functioning business organization. Together, we’ll get you on track to start changing the world.
Get ready to dance, because at Startup Entrepreneurship, you’ll be quick-stepping with some of the most creative (and successful) minds in the business. Pitch your plans to an angel investor, tour operations at successful business incubators, and discuss your competitor analysis with startup CEOs. As you network with serial entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, you’ll get real-world advice on what’s needed to land funding, how to handle staffing, and what to strive for in building a successful organizational culture.
Interested in exploring entrepreneurship, but not ready to invest all of your time focused on just one subject? Our most popular program – Exploration – might be a better fit for you.
With a number of course and workshop offerings in business + entrepreneurship, Exploration Programs give you the chance to explore your interest in business while at the same time giving you the opportunity to explore many more interests via a wide variety of hands-on courses, workshops, activities, events, and trips.
Here are some Exploration course options that are complementary to Startup Entrepreneurship:
EXPLO at Yale (Grades 10-12)
EXPLO at Wellesley (Grades 8+9)
