Orthopedics + Sports Medicine is a two-week focus program on the campus of Wellesley College for students entering grades 8-10.
To improve the lives of individuals with disabilities – orthopedic surgeons, sports physiologists, and physical therapists need to be at the top of theirs. At Orthopedics + Sports Medicine, we’re giving those future clinicians an enormous head start.
In the Orthopedics + Sports Medicine Program, students learn how to keep athletes and individuals in top shape — in the operating room, training room, and on the field. Step into training centers, rehab clinics, and onto the fields. You’ll uncover the up-close life of sports medicine specialists as you set fractures, treat injuries, analyze spine trauma, and operate to get your athletes back in the game.
Interested in exploring sports medicine, but not ready to invest all of your time focused on just one subject? Our most popular program – Exploration – might be a better fit for you.
With a number of course and workshop offerings in the medical sciences, Exploration Programs give you the chance to explore your interest in orthopedics + sports medicine while at the same time giving you the opportunity to explore many more interests via a wide variety of hands-on courses, workshops, activities, events, and trips.
Here are some Exploration course options that are complementary to Orthopedics + Sports Medicine:
