Your Career – Their Advice. The Best in the Field Come to EXPLO.

We Don’t Put Classroom Walls Around Learning

Every day at EXPLO is intentionally designed so that learning doesn’t end when classes do. Each activity, every encounter is an open-ended opportunity for discovery and growth.

Teaching +
Learning

Our year-round staff works for 10 months every off-season to develop curriculum and programming that will knock your socks off. (Unless you’re in the science lab, where closed-toe shoes are required.)

Daily
Schedule

From the moment your feet hit the floor in the morning until your head hits the pillow at lights out, every day at EXPLO is jam-packed with courses, entertainment, trips, and fun!

Become Part of the Tradition

With 41 summers under our belts, we know how important traditions are to our community. They unite us as soon as we step on campus and link us together for a lifetime. (And we can guarantee — you’ll never forget the Numa!)

  • Program Highlight: Numa

The “Numa,” an EXPLO-choreographed dance, makes a daily (at least) appearance out on the quad. Students voluntarily stop their wall ball games, quiet reading, and ninja hula-hooping at a chance to dance with the entire program to this catchy quirky tune.

  • Course Highlight: CPR Certification

    https://www.explo.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/cprcertificatin_emergencymedicine_overviewgrid_preview-543x800.jpg

Spend the day in the classroom with Red Cross guest speakers who will walk you through CPR and defibrillator use. By the end of the day, you will be CPR certified and one step closer to emergency response team members.

  • Course Highlight: Assessing a Patient

    https://www.explo.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/learningpatient_emergencymedicine_overviewgrid_preview-509x800.jpg

Learn the four techniques of assessing a patient, and in response, how to develop the same adaptable problem-solving skills as trained professionals in the medical field to respond to these assessments.

Participate in one of the most popular activities at EXPLO. Rules are rules though: You must learn to bring camaraderie, good sportsmanship, and effort every time you step up to the game

  • Course Highlight: Hands-On Equipment

    https://www.explo.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/stethescopes_preview-1200x384.jpg

Getting a handle of the basics is important in any subject — especially when it comes to dealing with emergency situations. Train with stethoscopes, ultrasounds, and pressure gauges so that when you are out on the field, you can get right into the action.

EXPLO Reinvented the Learning Experience.
We Continue to Do So — Every Day

From the halls of MIT to the minds of curious young people from across the U.S. and around the world, learning through exploration combines an array of experiences — from hands-on courses and workshops to outdoor activities and weekend trips — that transform the way students engage with the world. More than 40 years later, EXPLO continues to reinvent the learning experience. Educators, nonprofits, and corporate leaders alike now seek EXPLO’s knowledge and expertise in engaged learning, critical making, and design thinking to drive their organizations forward.

Since 1976 EXPLO has
reached 75,000 students from
50 states and 93 countries
around the world.

I cannot recall a time I have had as much fun. Each class alone was worth about a week of science at school. We went on field trips to places I had never even dreamed of going. What made it the best was all the learning. The ability to ask question after question and to have then all answered is so wonderful, and it’s all at your fingertips.
