Every day at EXPLO you get to choose from more than 10 unique activities. With plenty of options and the ability to choose what you’ll participate in, EXPLO at Yale’s extracurricular programming gives you the chance to make each day different.
Evening events and activities at EXPLO mirror the extracurricular environment you’ll find when you get to college. Enjoy the live band playing hits on the Quad, join a daily debate group, take a workshop with a guest speaker from the UN, get together with a group of students and staff to check out the cool new off-campus restaurant, get your A Cappella on, play in a basketball tournament — with more seemingly limitless options every day and the freedom to choose what you’ll participate in, you can make each evening different and exciting.

In addition to activities, EXPLO hosts a variety of larger campus events. Gather for live concerts on the Quad, participate in improv comedy performances at the Shubert Theater, dance with friends at Toad’s Place, and much more! For students interested in low key options for the evenings, check out the nightly movie screening or opt to simply hang with your suitemates. With the ability to choose between large events, activities, and the chill atmosphere of the EXPLO student lounge, students design the evening of their choice.
You like to move. You like to sweat. At EXPLO, you’ll have plenty of time and opportunities to do both. For a more structured experience, you can enroll in any of our afternoon athletic workshops (such as tennis, yoga, or fencing), or in special sports clinics. If you’re looking for a little less instruction and would rather jump right into playing, you can join a sports league (like rugby, 3 vs. 3 basketball, or soccer). Plus, there’s always sports equipment on the Quad so that you can start a pick-up game of ultimate Frisbee, football, or soccer. During afternoon Open Time and Evening Events, students may head out to the field or tennis courts, or also simply stop by the Payne Whitney Gymnasium to get in a good workout.
