Boston Overnight
(through Sunday, July 31)

This weekend will give you the opportunity to experience some of the most exciting highlights of “Beantown.” You will get to know Boston on a Duck Tour in an authentic, renovated World War II amphibious landing vehicle that will carry you through the streets of Boston and into the Charles River. You will also see the USS Constitution, Boston Common (the oldest public park in the United States), and dine at the Hard Rock Cafe before seeing the Blue Man Group. Glimpse Boston's past when you visit Quincy Market, Fanueil Hall, and the Freedom Trail. Other Boston sites include Fenway Park, and the unique shopping area of Harvard Square.

Phantom of the Opera

Newport Folk Festival
Travel to Newport, Rhode Island for a folk-filled day of music, food, shopping and entertainment galore. Be a part of music history at the Newport Folk Festival 2011, continuing the tradition of music education and collaboration.

NBC + Moving Image Museum
You’ll also have the special opportunity to tour the NBC Studios. Led by a page, you’ll be guided through the halls and studios of NBC's New York operations. Visit the control room, the set of the Today Show, and learn about blue screen technology with one of the interactive displays.

Statue of Liberty + Ellis Island
This guided ferry ride will stop at the Statue of Liberty, one of the most universal symbols of political freedom and democracy. The view from the ferry will be reminiscent of what immigrants first saw entering the New York Harbor centuries ago. Similarly, Ellis Island is today recognized as the first point of entry for European immigrants for over sixty years. You will be able to walk through the Great Hall and search your family’s surname on the longest wall of names in the world having over 600,000 entries!

Have a picnic, hike a trail on one of the walking trails at Hammonassset Beach, catch some rays, or go for a swim in the cool salt water.

The Lion King
This musical is a delight for students. Based on the 1994 Disney Classic, this theatre production features the same music by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice. New additions include actors in animal costumes as well as large hollow puppets. This praised rendition of the classic story is as charming as ever.

Cirque du Soleil
Having more than 100 types of occupations, representing 50 nationalities and 25 different languages, Cirque du Soleil is a theatre group based in Canada. Performers walk on stilts, juggle, dance, breath fire and play music to produce an energetic performance. Get ready to be plunged into a fantastical, suspense-filled arena of acrobatics, costumes and live music.

Paintball
Students will have fun at Matt's Outback Paintball in Coventry, CT. Students are provided with the appropriate clothing to have a safe and fun day. Matt's Outback Paintball facilities include an 18 acre wood field, 2 air fields and a tire field. The fields are netted, so students can watch and observe other students playing.

Lake Compounce
Located in Bristol, Connecticut, Lake Compounce abounds with splishy and splashy fun all day long. Options for visitors include raft riding, waterslides, Lazy River rides, wave pools, as well as live performances. Students can enjoy the amusement park as they ride on Boulder Dash, voted the world's number one wooden roller coaster. Twist and turn on the Zoomerang or take a spin on the Wave Swinger. Students can also relax on the Sky Ride, a half-hour chair lift ride to the top of the mountain.

Whitewater Rafting
With Zoar Outdoor, students will get the chance to experience the thrill of a lifetime. The Dryway Trip in Charlemont, MA is a six hour event. Students will enjoy the four hour river trip, a barbeque lunch served at base, as well as a slideshow of their trip. Strap on your life jacket, buckle your helmet and put your fearlessness to the test while you whitewater with white knuckles!

Zip Line Tour
First stop: get fitted for your harness and helmet. Next, build your confidence as you take a short hike to the practice zip. Get comfortable with zipping, braking, and self-rescue on a short, low zip line. You’ll take a quick 4x4 ride up to the top of the course that is 500 feet vertically uphill. With a spectacular view of the Deerfield River Valley and the northern Berkshires, you’ll travel longer and faster down the zips!

Guggenheim
Students will visit the celebrated museum located in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Completed in 1959, the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright–designed museum is among the 20th century's most important architectural landmarks. The museum's great rotunda has been the site of many celebrated special exhibitions, while its smaller galleries are devoted to the Guggenheim's renowned collection, which ranges from Impressionism through contemporary art. Tours are led by art professionals with specialized knowledge of the museum's permanent collection, special exhibitions, and architecture.

Manhattan Food Tour
Famous for being rich with foods from around the world, take a tour of Manhattan and sample delicious treats like Norwegian smoked salmon and knishes from Eastern Europe, just to list a few. This tour includes sightseeing in Lower Manhattan, Little Italy, Chinatown, Greenwich Village, and the Lower East Side. The tastings will be served on the bus and are enough for lunch.

Mystic Aquarium
Located in Mystic, Connecticut, Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration provides educational programs which aim at building a connection with the natural world and fostering understanding of how organisms, habitats, and ecosystems work. Through inquiry-based teaching and hands-on activities, education programs encourage people to use and develop skills such as observing, hypothesizing, experimenting, and drawing conclusions.

College Workshop
There are a lot of rumors and half-truths about what works in college admissions and what doesn't. Join us in this workshop and we will set the record straight. Logan Powell, Director of Admissions at Princeton University, leads "The College Search" — a daylong seminar that gives you insider access into the college admissions process. Find out which guidebooks are the most reliable. Estimate your chances of admission and how to put together a list of schools. Understand the anatomy of a typical college application. In this workshop, we'll demystify what happens behind the closed door of an admissions panel — answering your questions and providing you with sample student applications that you will learn to evaluate from an admissions perspective.

Golf Clinic
Ever want to break free from the shackles of miniature golf, and just launch the ball through the windmill and into the distance? Do you want to be the next Tiger Woods? Or perhaps the next Happy Gilmore? A tall task for one day, but we’ll at least get you started on your way. This clinic will adjust your stance, fix your glance, and make your golf ball dance. (Maybe it’ll even teach you to rhyme, but probably not.) Learn the basics of golf so that one day you will be swinging with the pros.
