![]() Question of the Day: "What's the coolest thing you've done so far this summer at Explo?" (7/13) For today's question, we talked to one 10th grade boys living group. Here are some of their answers:
![]() Brett from California. Visiting Boston on a trip. We went to a bunch of shops, we took the Freedom Trail, and we did a Duck Tour. And then we watched the fireworks for the Fourth on the waterfront.
![]() Javier from Spain. I've liked all the main events. The talent show is tonight -- I really want to see it. I have a few friends who are going to perform, but they haven't told me yet what they're going to do.
![]() John from Pennsylvania. The hypnotist that came last [Wednesday]. He brought up 15 people or so and just started messing with them and they don't remember anything about it. He made them dance randomly and a guy tried to pick up a sponge that he thought weighed 500 pounds, but it was just a sponge.
![]() Umberto from Italy. The Six Flags trip. We went last Sunday with lots of friends and had a lot of fun. Theme parks in America are different than what we have in Italy. They're a lot bigger and more sophisticated . . . and more fun.
![]() Ege from Turkey. It's sort of a cliche but everything's been awesome. I've liked the hypnotist, and I've made a lot of friends here, and I've liked some of the lessons I've had in my classes. We've done a lot of experiments, which is nice. We made an experiment about a genetic disease -- we put diseased blood and normal blood, and then compared the differences.
![]() Sean from Florida. I've met people from all over the world -- people rom Lebanon, Spain, Honduras. Most places in America, you don't get to meet people like this.
![]() Giovanni Roberto from Italy. Both of my courses are really good. I'm taking DJing and investment methods. In investment methods, we got companies annual reports and we had to analyze how our companies were doing. My group had Caterpillar [a construction and mining manufacturer]; they weren't doing very good.
![]() Nick from Massachusetts. My crew mini-course. The first day was probably the most grueling thing ever. We had three sections where we had to go on the rowing machines for five minutes straight and do that three times. By the time we finished, I couldn't even get out of my seat.
![]() Andrew from New York. We had a deep sea fishing trip last Sunday, and we had to wake up at 3:00am for it, so instead of going to sleep, some guys on the hall, we pulled an all-nighter, just hanging out and playing poker. The trip was great but hanging out with everyone the night before . . . that was fantastic.
![]() Kaan from Turkey. I always watch things like CSI and stuff, and I got to take a course, forensics, where we do all that. We've learned how to take fingerprints, how to separate blood types, things like that. I've always been interested in that kind of stuff -- you know, how it's done.
![]() Russell from England. The main events have been pretty awesome. Like, last Wednesday we had a hypnotist; he was pretty good. We also had Club Night the night before. We went to a club, Toad's Place, that's around here. All the main events have been really good.
