	brittany from new york (6/30) Brittany is entering tenth grade and it’s her first time at Explo. Her laughter caught our attention as she was having an interesting conversation on Yale's Old Campus with her new friend Kristen. She looks forward to meeting more new and interesting people. Have you been to Explo before? No, this is my first summer. I'm excited. What brings you to Explo? I heard about it from a cousin who came here before. She had a good experience so I decided to try it out. What are you looking forward to most? Making friends and meeting new people. You've only been here for part of the day. Have you met any new people yet? Yes, one, [gestures to friend] her name is Kristen. We just met today. Tomorrow is the first day of classes; what are you taking? I am taking mock trial and creative writing. I am really good at debating, so I'm looking forward to arguing in court. What do you think about Explo so far? I think it looks fun. I’m excited for what happens next. Can you tell me something interesting about yourself that most people don’t know? As I said before, I’m really good at debating. Do you have any nicknames? Some people call me Brit, it’s short for Brittany. What trips are hoping to go on while you are here? I’m going to Boston and to a play called Hairspray. I am looking forward to Boston; I have never been there before. What other interests do you have? I’m trying out for the track team when I get back to school. I like sprinting. What did you do right before coming to Explo? I called some of my friends to say goodbye, and tell them I was leaving. Does coming here make you think about college? Yes it does. I’m interested in [Yale] and many schools outside of New York. This being your first time, what are you expecting at Explo? I’m expecting to learn new things and meet friends from different places. What are you most surprised about in the time that you’ve been here? The amount of people I see here and the diversity of people I see. Is there anything else you would like to share with me?
