Boston Duck Tours and Omni Film
Start the morning off with an Omni movie at the Museum of Science Omni theater and then it’s off to the Duck Tours—a humorous land and water tour of Boston and the Charles River, all in the same amphibious vehicle! Hop on board, it’s sure to be a blast — quack, quack!

New England Aquarium and IMAX Film
Ever seen a whale skeleton? Or a blue lobster? What about a Harbor seal or a sea lion? Come spend the day at the New England Aquarium near Boston Harbor. You’ll have a chance to see many animal exhibits, including all kinds of penguins, jellyfish, and more. We’ll finish off the day in the Simons IMAX theater, where you’ll have a chance to watch an enormous film on a three-story screen.

Old Salem
If you love tales of witchcraft and piracy, then this is the trip for you! Come explore old Salem village, home of the famous witch trials. First we’ll go for a guided trolley ride through town, seeing the historic sites along the way. Then we’ll head to the Witch Dungeon Museum, where we’ll witness a live reenactment of an historic trial, and then to the Pirate Museum. YAR!

Old, New + BBQ
This is a jam-packed day that has a little bit of everything. First, you will head to Harvard’s Natural History Museum, where you can examine fossils, meteorites, and gemstones. You won’t want to miss the hundreds of preserved and stuffed animal specimens, ranging from butterflies to bears... Then, enjoy a lunch of delicious BBQ at a Cambridge restaurant. After lunch, travel into Cambridge, Massachusetts to experience the high-tech exhibits at the MIT Museum, featuring holograms, robots, and more.

Cupcakes + Butterflies
Is there anything more delightful than sweet things and pretty things? This trip has some of both! In the morning we’ll design and frost cupcakes in a delicious confection of fun and sprinkles. Then in the afternoon we’ll head to the Butterfly Place to see the fluttering, colorful beauty of these insects.

Canoe Hopkinton
This weekend workshop begins with a scenic drive to beautiful Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Following a brief lesson in canoe technique and the basics of steering and paddling, we’ll see hands-on demonstrations of how to paddle, go over canoe safety, and then get out on the water! We’ll canoe to our lunch site while playing exciting games along the way. You won’t want to miss this exciting on-the-water experience.

Off Campus Trips

Water Country
No, this isn’t a trip to the Lakes Region! This is a trip to one of the greatest water theme parks in the USA! With triple giant slides, a double dive boggan, the famous "Double Geronimo" and more, this day is one that you won’t soon forget! All you need is your bathing suit and a towel to enjoy your day in the sun.
NOTE: All students who go on this trip must have passed the Explo swim test. Students will explore the park in staff-led groups. 7th grade students may explore the park in groups of 5 or more and will be required to check in at Staff Stations every hour.

Canobie Lake
Canobie Lake is one of New England’s most popular amusement parks and has tons of rides and attractions. Some may prefer a relaxing ride on the antique carousel or the chaos of the classic bumper cars. Others may challenge themselves to ride the Turkish Twist and the roller coaster (in that order)! Be sure to check out this year’s newest ride: XTreme Frisbee.
NOTE: All students who go on this trip must have passed the Explo swim test. Students will explore the park in staff-led groups. 7th grade students may explore the park in groups of 5 or more and will be required to check in at Staff Stations every hour.

Wind Tunnels and Windmills
Ever wondered what it would be like to be a skydiver? This is your chance to find out – in a completely safe way. Start your day at an indoor vertical wind tunnel. Air currents come from below, allowing participants to fly several feet off the ground, and experience the same sensation real skydivers have when jumping out of a plane. It was designed for the world’s best skydivers, but with a few lessons, a special suit, and a helpful guide, you will be safely "flying" in no time. After you’ve experienced flight in the wind tunnel, you’ll have lunch and play a couple rounds of mini-golf. Watch out for the windmill!
SKYVENTURE INDOOR SKYDIVING WAIVER REQUIRED

Manners and Etiquette
Do you know the correct way to introduce yourself? Or which fork to use for which foods? Or the polite way to tell someone they have broccoli in their teeth? Join us for a crash course on manners and etiquette… Explo-style! We’ll spend the morning working on our manners at Explo, before heading out to a nice restaurant for afternoon tea and dessert to show our stuff! Students who go on this trip should dress nicely for the afternoon portion of this trip.

Mystery Trip
Take a chance on the Mystery Trip! Who knows what your trip leaders have in store for you... it could be a tour of a factory or a day at the beach. Either way, we promise you’ll have a blast. Fun and adventure await you on the Mystery Trip!

Boston Harbor Islands
Come sail away to Spectacle Island, located in Boston Harbor. It’s a quick ferry ride to get there, and then we’ll spend the day sunning ourselves, exploring, and using Park Ranger GPS units to complete a geocaching scavenger hunt!

Kayak Hopkinton
Have you ever wanted to try kayaking? This is your chance! We will spend the day exploring the ins and outs of the sport of kayaking. In the morning, we will head to Hopkinton State Park and go over skills, techniques, and all of the basics to get you comfortable and moving in a kayak. After some practice time and games, you’ll get the chance to paddle through the water and fine-tune your technique! Students who go on this trip do need to pass the Explo swim test. Students should also wear a bathing suit and shoes that can get wet, and bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Berries and Baking
If you love baked goods, then you’ll love this workshop! Before you bake, you must get the berries, so first we will take a trip out to a farm to pick our very own berries. From there, we will come back to campus and select the best recipe for the fresh fruit we’ve just picked. Once all of our scrumptious baked goods are finished, then we will share and enjoy! Besides walking away with a full stomach, you’ll also have a hand-made berry cookbook to keep.
