community of learners Each session, approximately 600 students (450 residential, 150 day) arrive at the Intermediate Program from all over the world and from all different backgrounds. Our student body is a self-selected group of young people interested in making new friends and trying new things. This open community of artists, writers, athletes, musicians, leaders, scientists, activists, dancers, and scholars helps form an ideal summer environment for personal exploration, learning, and growth. While at the Program, you are allowed to map out how you want to spend your day within a flexible, yet structured, environment. You are free to choose activities and events with which you are familiar, but we also encourage you to expand your horizons and try something new each day. Our students have an eclectic array of interests, and you will learn as much from interacting with them and learning about their interests as they will learn from you. student body facts Last year, 70% of our students arrived without knowing other students at the Intermediate Program. Approximately 70% of Intermediate Program students are residential and about 30% are day students. Approximately 10% of the Intermediate Program's student body is made up of international students. Recently, international students have represented countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, China, England, France, Ireland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Puerto Rico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, and Venezuela ![]()

your summer home The Intermediate Program is based in Wellesley College residence halls, which surround a central quadrangle. The Quad is the hub of activity throughout the day, a place where you will gather for assemblies, activities, and pick-up games of volleyball, Frisbee, and hacky-sack. The Quad and common spaces in the residence halls are a perfect place for talking and relaxing with friends and staff members, grabbing a refreshment from the vending machines, and checking out a wide range of activities. All residence halls, meeting spaces, Program offices, and dining halls surround the quadrangle, and classrooms and athletic facilities are located nearby. |
