The Healing Touch
Do you love animals? Do you want to learn how to take care of them? Do you know you want to heal and care for animals for the rest of your life? Then EXPLO Vet is the perfect program for you.

Who could ever harm an animal? That's what the Boston Animal Rescue League — and EXPLO Vet students — ask themselves every day. At EXPLO Vet, you'll find out what it means to truly bring an animal back to life (and love).
By learning how to read X-rays and ultrasound images, the students of EXPLO Vet can understand what to look for when an animal is injured in any way.
The Vet Is In!
To become a vet, you need to things: a love of animals, and a desire to learn everything you can to make sure the animals you take care of are as healthy and happy as possible. If you’re on this page, you already have that in spades.
At EXPLO Vet, you’ll learn how to care for animals in need, by working side-by-side with professional veterinarians and by learning how to diagnose animal diseases, set broken limbs, and “read” animals for injuries and illnesses. You won’t just study what it takes to become a great vet, you’ll practice right alongside them. And they’ll treat you not as the students you are, but as the veterinarians you are set to become.
Learning by Doing
We do things a little differently here. Instead of having to sit through hours of lectures and memorization — like regular veterinary students must — you’ll get to jump right in on the action. That’s because we believe that, as budding professionals, the best way to understand what it’s like to be a veterinarian — and to learn to think like a vet — is to be a vet.
At EXPLO Vet, you’ll learn by doing. You’ll get to examine mammal hearts, inspect radiographs of common pet injuries, and take the vital signs of farm animals. Professional vets will teach you how to treat and suture a wound, perform a snout-to-tail assessment on a rescued dog, and enhance a gorilla's life in captivity. And to top it off, you’ll complete the program certified in pet First Aid and CPR.
Thinking Outside the Box
EXPLO Vet combines EXPLO's renowned educational practice with the expertise of industry professionals to provide students with a one-of-a-kind experience not typically found at an ordinary school. Our courses teach "outside the box" and go outside the classroom.
At EXPLO, we’re not looking to confine learning to the classroom, though the classroom plays an integral part. We’re interested in inspiring students to challenge themselves, to immerse themselves in a profession and learn it from the inside out. Our Focus Programs bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, giving our students a truer, more realistic insight into what really goes into their chosen profession. And by introducing students to these experiences at 12 to 15 years of age, we know we’re catching them at a stage where inspired learning can have the most impact.
According to the Professional
At EXPLO Vet, you’ll have the opportunity to work shoulder-to-shoulder with veterinary doctors and surgeons, and get exclusive, professional-only access to the exciting field of veterinary science and medicine. As Dr. Dani Cimino, a veterinarian with Crossroads Mobile Vet, says:
“I really wanted them to get their hands on a dog and their ears on his chest, and just feeling everything — what a normal heart sounds like, what a normal belly feels like, what ears smell like, and what a mouth looks like up close. In vet school, you don't actually get to handle animals for two and a half years. But we went straight to touching them — because that's what ignites the passion.”
