Afternoon and Evening Tasters
After studying the chemistry of protein bonding, interviewing a guest chef, working on knife skills, and pairing an entree with a perfect side salad, the day is not over! The evenings are also jam-packed with fun and adventure! In the late afternoon, hang out with friends during a low-key "chill period" or take part in optional activities in the arts, athletics, or the absurd (like the world's largest robot dance).
Every night there are two or more "Main Events" to choose from: watch a live on-campus performance, play basketball at the Sports Center, go to a movie with some friends, or attend an open mic. Other options may include an evening cruise of the Boston Harbor and inflatable rides at Carnival Night, EXPLO Gladiators and EXPLO Idol. The choice is yours every evening.
Living at Wellesley
During the summer you'll be living and learning with a diverse group of students who share a common interest in culinary arts. All the students in EXPLO Chef are housed on the same floor (boys on one hall, girls on another) of a dorm with other EXPLO at Wellesley students.
Living on the campus of Wellesley College is not only a lot of fun, but also a great learning experience. For many students, EXPLO is their first time living with a roommate or the first time they do laundry on their own. And while you'll learn what it's like to live away from home, you won't be on your own. Your Residential Advisors live on your hall and will be with you every step of the way, making sure you're comfortable, safe, and happy.
Weekend Trips
On the Sunday marking the midpoint of the program, you and your classmates can choose from 8-12 different cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities, including sight-seeing, theater trips, outdoor adventures, amusement parks, and on-campus staff-led clinics.
