Partnerships

At Explo, we engage in, and value, partnerships of all kinds — from organizations that serve gifted students of low income families, to those that provide valuable equipment, resources, and facilities to support our classroom work.

Partner Profiles

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is a private, independent foundation established by Jack Kent Cooke to help exceptionally promising students reach their full potential through education. In particular, the Foundation focuses on students with financial need. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's Young Scholars Program was founded on the idea that if you give high-achieving students with financial need the guidance and resources necessary for them to excel during high school, college, and beyond, their greatness will emerge.

The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers
The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers identifies teenagers with exceptional artistic and literary talent and brings their remarkable work to a national audience through The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The Awards have an impressive legacy dating back to 1923 and a noteworthy roster of past winners including Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Robert Redford and Joyce Carol Oates.

The Loomis Chaffee School
The Loomis Chaffee School is one of the premier boarding schools in the United Sates. Amongst an outstanding student body, special recognition goes to LC Scholars, young people who demonstrate exceptional intellectual and leadership qualities. In order to support these students in becoming 21st-Century global leaders, Loomis Chaffee provides the Scholars with summer enrichment at EXPLO at Wellesley, ongoing mentoring, international travel, financial assistance if needed, and remarkable educational opportunities.

The Framingham Public Schools
Several years ago, Explo partnered with Framingham's Dunning Elementary and Fuller Middle Schools with the aim of fostering a culture of opportunity at the two schools. Many of the Dunning and Fuller students come from families where English is a second language. Each summer, 25 very capable students from Dunning and Fuller attend Explo on full scholarships. All of these students are from low income families, are on free or reduced lunch, and have parents who have not attended college.

National Partnership for Educational Access (NPEA)
NPEA is a membership association dedicated to promoting quality, success, and growth amongst member organizations, partner schools, and communities committed to educational access. NPEA provides access to and participation in a collaborative learning community where organizations, institutions and individuals work to provide and expand educational opportunities for motivated, underserved students across the United States. Through professional development, information sharing, research and data analysis, and the dissemination of best practices, NPEA is working towards a day when all students have equal access to high-quality education and opportunities for college and beyond.

The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS)
The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) is the public voice for college-preparatory boarding schools and the central resource for boarding school education.
