A Global Community
Living in a global community rich with new ideas, interests, and opinions will challenge your conception of the world and your place in it. You might debate trading sanctions with individuals from different countries — and with very different ideas — and live with roommates who have vastly disparate religious views. At Explo, this is our "normal" — in no time at all, it will become yours, too. Â

An Explo summer is a summer of firsts. The first time you design a dress out of sustainable materials. The first time you overthrow a military coup. The first time you write — and perform — a rap onstage.
Imagine a program where everyone is a potential friend, where instructors are as enthusiastic as their students, and where each day brings the opportunity to try something new and dive into an unbelievable array of options. Find New Interests
With over 100 courses, 50 workshops, and tons of activities and trips to choose from, the offerings at Explo at Yale will fuel your creativity and spark your innovative spirit. Whether your interests lie in producing (and making) music, filming a documentary, or testing muscle mass while running at your peak performance, our courses and workshops will let you follow your interests, develop your talents, and explore subjects you've always been curious about.
Pursue Your Passions (No Grades Allowed)
We want you to have the freedom to take the courses you might never have the opportunity to take at home. We know how tough high school can be, and how much pressure you face to make sure your grades are the best they can be. Explo gives you the chance to take courses in subjects you're interested in or passionate about without worrying about how well you'll do or what grade you'll come home with at the end of session.
By eliminating grades altogether, you'll be learning for the sake of learning. Explo — and life — are not about acing tests. Explo's all about real learning — the kind where your mind gets expanded by big ideas and then you find that your life is permanently bigger. Your world, your mind, your aspirations... They'll all expand at Explo.
Prepare for College
Since our campus is Yale's campus, you get to experience the perks of living like a university student — complete with university dining, dorms, libraries, and off-campus trips — albeit in a safe, secure environment designed for high school students. To help guide you as you prepare for college, we offer a series of college prep courses, seminars, discussions, and workshops — as well as a college fair and visits to university campuses in the region — that will help you determine which is the best college for you, and what steps you can take to help get you there.
