EXPLO 360 Programs
EXPLO at Wheaton
Ages 9 – 12

A 3-week summer program for students entering grades 4-5 and 6-7 on the campus of Wheaton college.

Ever dreamed of a place where everyone's a new friend, where you're learning and doing cool things each day (like defending a medieval castle with the trebuchets you built), and where you are welcomed into the fold exactly as you are? That's Explo.

A Summer of Firsts
Make your first website. Make your first Italian feast. Make your first friend from another state (or another country). When you're young, there's lots of stuff you haven't done yet. So why not try some of those things — or maybe all of those things — this summer? Whether you're local or international, a 4th grader or a 7th grader, a summer at Explo is a summer of firsts — a summer of trying new things. We want you to explore!

New for 2014: Explo Mini
One week day programs for students entering grades 2-3, 4-5, 6-7

And with courses in hovercraft physics, stop-motion animation, and the science of baking cookies, trips to Fenway Park and the Blue Man Group, and activities like tie-dying, Frisbee, and marshmallow building construction, there's plenty here that will capture your imagination.

Happy, Safe + Secure: An Explo Summer
Our residential program offers kids a first chance to be away from home... and in the process, learn how to make choices for themselves. Our day program is unique in that it offers students the chance to learn hip-hop dance, go rock-climbing, and then eat lunch with a student from Shanghai... before going home at night to their own bed (or, if they like, staying over for the night with us).

A Campus for the Exploring
At Wheaton College, Explo has access to outstanding classroom spaces, state-of-the-art science labs, art studios, a wood shop, and two theaters (one full stage, one black box). For athletics and recreation, the campus features an indoor pool, playing fields, and a robust athletic center. In addition, there is a campus center, a greenhouse, an observatory with 9 telescopes, and, all around us, woods, nature trails, and vernal pools to discover, explore, and examine.

There are so many things for you to do at Explo — but if there's one thing you get out of the program, it's the idea that it's important to try new things. Come learn to explore with us!
