Notes on Required Charges

The Dormitory Damage Deposit is required to offset any charges incurred for damage to a student's room, furnishings, or pro-rated shares of extraordinary damage to common facilities in the dormitories. Families may be charged if a student's room is left dirty or in a state of disarray. Parents are responsible for any damage beyond the deposit. The damage deposit may also be debited if a student overdraws his/her miscellaneous account. If there is no damage or balance due, the damage deposit will be refunded to the person responsible for billing by late September.

Miscellaneous Accounts for Residential Students are used to cover weekend trips and sundries (excluding travel expenses). This account can be supplemented by parents at any time. All unused amounts, except those covered by scholarship, will be returned to the person responsible for billing by late September.

Miscellaneous Accounts for Day Students are used to cover evening and weekend trips, sundries, and additional meals for extended days and overnights. This account can be supplemented by parents at any time. All unused amounts, except those covered by scholarship, will be returned to the person responsible for billing by late September.

Extended Day Options

Explo at Wellesley offers an extended day program for day students. Students may arrive as early as 7:30am and eat breakfast at the program. Some families may have commitments that make it difficult for students to return home before dinnertime. To help meet family needs, day students are welcome to stay for the evening events as long as they have a ride home. They may eat dinner at the program and then participate in evening activities until 9:30pm each night. Day students are encouraged to spend up to three nights a week sleeping over at the Explo at Wellesley.

Students arriving for breakfast, or staying for dinner or an overnight will be charged a small additional fee to cover dinner and/or breakfast. This fee will be deducted from the student's Miscellaneous Account.

Rate Notes and Discounts

All fees are in US dollars.

There is a $75 application fee for all international student applicants to cover the cost of student interviews, language assessments, additional staffing, and additional costs.

The tuition rates include a discount given to students enrolling in both sessions. If two or more students in a family are attending any of the Explo programs, each student will receive a discount of $200 per residential session, $100 per day session, and/or $150 per Focus session.

Students whose parents are employed by Yale University, Wellesley College, or St. Mark’s School receive a discount. Please contact our Admission Office for details.

Health Insurance Information

All participants are required to have coverage from a U.S. based accident and health insurance provider. International participants and others without this coverage will be billed each session for a short term accident/health policy.
